Hey, you!

My name is Chamaya and I’m so glad you’re here. I’m an actor, singer, dancer, writer, public speaker, teaching artist and all-around nerd. After graduating with a Theatre major, Business Institutions minor, and Musical Theatre certificate from Northwestern University, I planted my roots in Chicago. Since then, I’ve acted on-screen, been a back-up singer for Tye Tribbett and other Grammy-award winning recording artists, and even had the privilege of singing for the Obamas.

The things that keep me grounded are my faith, my loved ones, and my passion for people. I take immense pride in my work ethic and ability to be versatile in terms of the roles that I play. It is also incredibly important to me to help foster a inclusive, professional environment for my fellow cast members and the production team. I love to create, and hope that we can get the chance to make some magic together soon.

Whether I’m in a writing room, in a recording studio, teaching an adventure class to toddlers, or doing pirouettes on a stage, I feel fortunate being able to do what I do and make a living. Being an artist is a privilege, and I’m thankful for it everyday.

Much love,

Maya
